  • ★★★½☆ Build Your Own Plate Falafel Greek Salad Gyro Visited Feb 25, 2017

Odd Ordering Process, Food Was Not Flavorfull

I visited once using a Groupon, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t leave much of an impression on me. The food was lacking in flavor, and I found the overall experience somewhat unusual, from the way the menu was structured to the layout of the restaurant.

The menu was arranged around a five-step ordering process rather than offering traditional plates. You picked your protein, then your vegetables, and continued through the different steps to build your meal. It reminded me more of restaurants that specialize in one type of customizable item, like a burrito shop, rather than a typical Mediterranean or Greek restaurant. Perhaps because of this format, I felt the menu was somewhat limited in terms of the choices available.

For my meal, I chose gyro meat, falafel, rice, and salad. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty bland. Nothing was particularly bad, but the flavors just weren't there, and I was expecting considerably more from a Mediterranean/Greek meal.

The restaurant's layout also felt a little odd to me, and combined with the unusual ordering process and limited menu, the entire experience felt different from what I was accustomed to at other Mediterranean and Greek restaurants.

I haven't returned since that visit. It was probably one of my least memorable experiences with a Mediterranean or Greek restaurant, and the food simply wasn't impressive enough to give me a reason to go back. I've eaten at Mediterranean restaurants that had build a meals, build a bowl, but this one was confusing.
