A Good Roadside Stop. A Random Assortment Of Items
Decent stop while heading up or down the mountain. It's a good place to pick up snacks for the road, although some of the items are a little pricey.
I originally stopped here expecting more of an apple orchard-style store with a huge selection of apple products. Instead, the store had a much broader selection of snacks, gifts, and other items, with the apple products making up a smaller part of the overall selection. I saw cherry cider, but no apple cider, which was actually what I had come in looking for. I remembered buying fresh apple cider from a place in Arizona when I was a child and was hoping to find something similar.
They had candied nuts, roasted nuts, a variety of pies, and fudge. The fudge seemed to be one of the more popular items, along with the apple pies featured on the roadside sign. They did have some apple products, including candied apples, apple butter, and apple pie, but the sheer variety of other items in the store seemed to overwhelm the apple-focused products. It felt like the apple theme got a little lost in the middle of everything else.
The store had a nice country feel to it, although the staff was pretty busy when we visited. It was also peak tourist season, with plenty of families traveling with kids during summer vacation.
We did leave with some snacks for the rest of the trip. I can't say I found exactly what I was looking for or experienced anything particularly unique, but I would be willing to stop again and take another look. I didn't get a chance to try the apple pie, so that's something I'd like to check out if I return.— Paul
