Poor Service, Long Waits, & Food That Was Unimpressive
My most recent visit to the Brewing Company was with a friend and his family, who wanted to spend the day exploring Fredericksburg. We decided to stop here for lunch, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.
The restaurant was packed with the lunch crowd, and after a few minutes, we were finally seated. Then the waiting began again. It took about 10 minutes to receive our menus, followed by several more minutes before our drinks arrived. Once we placed our orders, we waited nearly another 45 minutes for the food, all while sitting with empty glasses. The waitstaff never returned to refill our drinks or ask if I wanted another beer.
When the food finally arrived, things didn't improve much. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel with German potato salad and red cabbage, and none of the three dishes impressed me.
The sauce on the Jägerschnitzel had an unusual flavor unlike anything I'd experienced at other restaurants. The German potato salad was also disappointing. My family is German, and I make it myself regularly, and I've tried a lot of versions. This version missed the mark. The red cabbage was mediocre as well, lacking the sweet flavor I expected.
By the time we finished, I was disappointed with the entire experience. Between the lengthy wait to be seated, the slow service, the nearly 45-minute wait for our food, and the underwhelming meal, it simply wasn't worth the time or money.
Considering the prices, I expected much better food and service. I'm not sure I'll return, as this visit left me with little reason to give the Brewing Company another try.
