Average Chinese Buffet But No Standout Items
The food here is decent, with flavors that are pretty middle-of-the-road. The selection is about what you'd expect from an average Chinese buffet, but neither the variety nor the overall food quality really stands out.
I used to eat here off and on and occasionally brought customers who had businesses in the area. One unusual feature is a section of the buffet dedicated to non-Asian foods, including several Mexican items. It's a bit of an odd combination, although it's not entirely uncommon at American-style Chinese buffets.
Service has generally been pretty good, and the lunch and dinner prices are about average. However, compared with the handful of Chinese buffets around the San Antonio area, this one falls toward the lower end of my list.
I think the buffet could improve both the quality of the food and the variety of its Asian entrees. That said, considering the current price point, I can understand why the selection is somewhat limited. Offering a larger variety of dishes and improving the flavors would help it stand out from the competition.
It offers the familiar Chinese-American staples, along with a few non-Chinese options, at an average price. It's an acceptable choice if you're looking for a straightforward buffet, but there are other options in San Antonio that I prefer.— Paul
