Decent Diner, But Items Are Hit or Miss.
I first tried this place a few trips ago, and each visit to Pagosa Springs stopped in with travel companions and tried another item.
After a few meals where we had items that were so-so to not very good, we started exploring other restaurants around town. The last meal I ate at Junction was a chicken fried steak, which was decent but not amazing. The chicken fried steak had an off taste like it was fried in oil that was going stale.
The same meal, I warned one of my fellow Texas travelers to steer clear of the Mexican food, but he ordered the enchiladas anyway and was in fact disappointed. I mean I had tried them before, and being from a town where theres a Mexican restaurant on every block, I knew he wouldnt like them. But I guess he had to see/taste for himself..
With both of us unhappy with this meal, it might be the last visit to the Junction Restaurant for a while.
The staff at Junction is friendly though, and service is decent even when bus. If you visit in the off season (non ski) or outside peak hours, service is even better. But even with the good service, you get one good meal, then one thats mediocre, then one thats bad. If you find something you like, its probably worth sticking with that item here.
I will probably return to try some other items, as theres only so many places in this town. All my experiences werent bad, so I expect some more decent ones as well.— Paul
