A Pleasant Vineyard Visit Made Even Better by a Weekend Craft Market
We visited the vineyard on a Sunday while it was hosting an arts and crafts show in the parking lot. Apparently, these events take place every Sunday throughout the summer and fall, making it an added attraction for anyone visiting the area.
There was a nice variety of vendors selling everything from roasted nuts and jerky to handmade woodworking projects and beaded jewelry. We spent some time browsing the booths before heading inside to sample a few of the vineyard's wines.
The wine selection covered a good range of styles, from dry to sweet, with several decent options. The flavors were generally good, although I didn't find any particular wines that really stood out as favorites. A few were quite enjoyable, though, and the prices were reasonable for a local vineyard, generally around $15–$25 per bottle.
The biggest drawback was the service during the tastings. There were noticeable waits between the wines we sampled, which slowed things down a bit. Aside from that, the experience was very enjoyable.
We hadn't planned on stopping here, so it turned out to be a pleasant surprise during our travels. The vineyard itself was nice, but the addition of the arts and crafts market made the visit even more worthwhile. Having the opportunity to browse local vendors and sample wine in one stop made it worth the short drive off the highway.
I'd happily consider returning if I'm passing through on a Sunday again. While I didn't discover a new favorite wine, the combination of a pleasant setting, decent wine selection, and variety of vendors made this a worthwhile stop.— Paul
