One Of The First Thai Restaurants I Ever Tried, Still A Favorite
I used to frequent this location when friends lived and worked nearby. I don't get here as often anymore, but it remains one of my favorite Thai restaurants in San Antonio and, in my opinion, one of the best in the Medical Center area.
The food at Jasmin Thai is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. Everything is prepared to order, and the prices have always been reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The food also comes out fairly quickly, whether you're dining in or ordering to go.
The staff has always been friendly and welcoming. I introduced several friends to this restaurant over the years, and they became regular customers as well. They ordered often enough that the staff eventually knew them by name and even recognized their voices when they called in an order.
The spice scale is also fairly consistent. The "hot" level can vary a little from visit to visit, so I usually stick with medium, which has been a good balance for me.
Two of my favorite dishes here are the Beef Pad Thai and Beef Pad See Ew. Both are dishes I've had at Thai restaurants all over the place, and these versions are among my favorites.
Whether you're looking for a place to dine in or grab some Thai food to take home, Jasmin Thai is worth trying. If you're in the Medical Center area and enjoy Thai food, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a visit.— Paul
