1st Visit Was Great, 2nd & 3rd Ended My Patronage

I’ve eaten at this restaurant three times. My first visit was a good experience, but unfortunately, my return visits were much less impressive.

On both my second and third visits, one of the items I really enjoyed, the custard buns from the dim sum selection were empty the entire visit. Other popular items on the buffet, including the sushi, would also run out quickly and weren’t replaced in a timely manner. During my third visit, I even had trouble getting my drink refilled.

The items I really enjoyed were what originally convinced me to come back and, in my opinion, were what made the buffet worth the price. Unfortunately, having to repeatedly sit and wait for food to be replenished took away from the experience. The sushi area became particularly messy and was left empty for a while.

The buffet had a few items you don't see often. But the majority was filled with the standard offerings. Beef & broccoli, chicken & broccoli, chow mien, egg rolls, wontons, egg drop soup, shrimp, general chicken, sesame chicken, your standard types of sushi, California rolls, Philadelphia roll, fried calamari rings, Chinese donuts, sliced fruits, and cheesecake.

Aside from the ongoing issue of popular items running out, the rest of the food was fairly average.

There were also some basic service issues. On my third visit, I was seated at a table that was still dirty and hadn’t been wiped down, which certainly didn’t help the overall impression. When my drink went empty or items on the buffet were out, I would have asked for a refill or if they could make more of an item, but once I was seated my plates just stacked up. If they were cleared it was done while I was away from the table, not giving me a chance other than to stand up and hunt someone down to bring any issues to their attention.

After three visits, I’m not sure if I’ll be returning. If I do give it another try, I’ll probably go during a busy weekend dinner rush. Based on my experiences, food preparation and service seem to be much slower during off-hours and on weeknights.
