Decent Buffet With The Basics Plus Some
I've visited Ultimate Buffet on my last two trips to Colorado Springs, and so far, it's the best buffet I've found in the area. The selection is extensive, with plenty of variety beyond the usual Chinese offerings.
The grill station had a decent selection of steak, shrimp, and grilled vegetables. The Chinese dishes were varied, and many were prepared well. One item I particularly enjoyed was the peanut sauce chicken, which I don't see offered at every buffet. Its cubed chicken pieces that are tossed and fried in a thai peanut style sauce. It has pretty good flavor, and was something new and unique.
The sushi section was another plus. Although the restaurant advertises more than 25 types of rolls and a dozen varieties of nigiri, I found around eight different rolls available during both visits. While none of the sushi was amazing, it was pretty decent for buffet sushi.
Service was consistently good, with empty plates and glasses cleared promptly and our table well attended.
Overall, Ultimate Buffet is a solid choice. I've tried two other buffets in Colorado Springs on other trips but returned here on my most recent trip, and while it doesn't rank among the best buffets I've visited across the country, it's one of the better options in the Colorado Springs area and a place I'd consider visiting again.— Paul
