Unique Ice Cream Combinations, Tons Of Toppings & Fresh Waffles (Not Cones)
An interesting experience and definitely something different from your typical dessert shop. They make hot waffles using either red or green batter, colored with Kool-Aid, and fill them with your choice of ice cream. There are quite a few flavors available, including some more unusual options, like the purple Ube ice cream I selected. The waffle isn't the traditional waffle cone your thinking, its more like the waffle iron waffle you get for breakfast.
Once you choose your waffle and ice cream, you can load it up with a variety of toppings. Options include Pocky sticks, cereals, candies, Pop Rocks, syrups, and other items. The number of combinations are practically endless.
Pictured is a green waffle filled with purple Ube ice cream, topped with green tea Pocky sticks, Fruity Pebbles cereal, and condensed milk. It was definitely colorful and fun to look at, but I found the items didn't really do much to compliment each other.
The waffle itself actually tasted pretty good, which surprised me. You could smell them cooking every time one was made. There was a unique fresh-baked sweet smell mixed with a fruity aroma in the air. The cereal didn't add much flavor to the ice cream, but it did provide some crunch. The Pocky sticks also had to be eaten separately rather than really blending into the dessert, so they felt more like a side than an actual ingredient.
Overall, I think the appeal is more about creating an unusual and visually interesting combination than necessarily having all of the flavors complement each other. It's a fun dessert concept and something different to try.
The serving sizes are very large, so this is definitely more than a small snack. Service was quick during my visit, and the location stays open late, making it a good option for a late-night dessert or a place to end the night.— Paul
