Tried The Mango Pudding Filled Donut On Halloween Night
I had seen Voodoo Doughnut featured on the Travel Channel and had come across plenty of articles and posts about it online, but I had never actually visited one. While visiting Austin for Halloween, I noticed the location on 6th Street and knew I had to stop in and check it out.
We went inside and ordered a few different items so we could try some of what they had to offer. I decided to try the mango pudding-filled doughnut with tang infused vanilla icing, which was pretty good. The filling added something different from a traditional doughnut and was definitely worth trying.
What really stood out to me was the variety. There was a pretty diverse selection of doughnuts, including some interesting and unusual combinations. As you look through the rotating racks, there are plenty of creations that catch your attention, and I can't imagine someone visiting and not finding at least one doughnut that they wanted to try, or at least one that made them curious enough to give it a shot.
The prices were reasonable for a specialty doughnut shop, especially considering the variety and some of the more elaborate varieties offered.
Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to Voodoo Doughnut. I wouldn't say I've tried enough of their doughnuts to have a favorite yet, but I'd definitely return. There were several flavors I'd like to try, but I'll have to make another visit to try them.— Paul
