Neighborhood Taco Kitchen
I had some time to spare before an appointment, so I decided to stop and get some tacos for breakfast. This was my first visit, and I tried a couple of different tacos to get a feel for the place.
I ordered the carne guisada and picadillo tacos. The carne guisada was tender and the taco had a pretty decent portion of meat. The picadillo taco had good flavor, but was less filling than the carne guisada. The tacos came out fairly quickly, especially considering there was already a decent number of customers inside. The restaurant had just opened and was already pretty busy, which was a good sign.
The meat in the tacos had good overall flavor, although the tortillas were a little thicker than I prefer. They seemed really dense, almost pita bread. I feel it took away from the flavor, but made the tacos more filling overall because it was simply more dough.
For the price, I thought it was a decent breakfast and I'd come back to eat here again. The restaurant is located in a small building that was obviously a convenience store at some point, tucked away deep in a neighborhood several blocks from the nearest expressway. It's not a place you're likely to stumble across while passing through, but it's worth knowing about if you're in the area.— Paul
