  Good Food, Homestyle Country Cooking & Fair Prices.

  I've eaten here once in the past. This is a well known restaurant at an intersection frequented by both travelers and locals. The menu has a wide selection of food of which contains a chicken fried steak.
  
  I've had many a person comment to me about eating here, so I decided to give it another try. The first time I visited it was early in the morning. This time it was lunch so we ordered 3 chicken fried steaks.
  
  Our order came out pretty quick and all the portions were plentiful. I ordered fried okra and mashed potatoes with mine.
  
  My main criticism was that all the food lacked seasoning, salt and spices of any kind. The gravy seemed overly bland, and after a bit of salt and pepper the flavor improved, but still could have been better. The steak had a good batter, wasnt overly thick, and the meat was tender. But the flavor of the batter, the meat, and the gravy were all underwhelming. It was overall a decent chicken fried steak, somewhere in the middle of all the chicken fried steaks I've had. It wasnt the biggest or best, but was a decent meal.
  
  The mashed potatoes were decent, but the gravy on them again needed salt and pepper. The okra was okra, nothing overly different, the batter was decently crisp, but it was just pretty average.
  
  Overall the meal was good, service was great, and portions were more than filling. But as far as being impressed, I felt it was just decent.
  
  **Update**
  Im not sure when they started advertising it, but the sign on the front of the building now says "Worlds Best Chicken Fried Steak". I might have to see if its changed any. (2026)
