  • ★★★★½ Brisket Bun Bowl Visited May 20, 2020

First Vietnamese Bun Bowl I've Seen With Brisket. Had To Try It

An interesting restaurant with a unique vibe and a menu that offers something a little different from the typical Vietnamese restaurants I've visited.

I tried this place for the first time with a friend who recommended it. The interior is very minimal, but stylish and comfortable, with an entire wall of glass facing the main street. It gives the restaurant an open, modern feel without being overly decorated.

The menu features several Banh Mi options, along with rice, Goi, and Bun noodle bowls. There are several protein choices, including pork, chicken, brisket, shrimp, and more.

For my first visit, I decided to try the Bun bowl with brisket. The brisket caught my attention because it's not a protein I normally see offered in a Bun bowl. When it arrived, the bowl looked fairly traditional, and the overall flavors were pretty good. They were also fairly similar to what I've had at many other Vietnamese restaurants.

The brisket itself was the one part I wasn't completely sold on. It didn't have a lot of flavor and was a little dry for the dish, especially when paired with the other ingredients, which were more moist and lightly crunchy. I didn't feel like the brisket was the best pairing for a Bun bowl, but it was definitely an interesting combination.

It was raining the day I visited, and sitting near the front window watching the rain and activity on the street actually made for a surprisingly relaxing meal. The large glass wall, street-side view, and minimalist interior give the restaurant a different feel from many of the Vietnamese restaurants I've visited.

If you like Vietnamese food and are looking for somewhere a little different, I'd recommend checking this place out. It's different enough to be interesting while still keeping many of the traditional Vietnamese elements.
