Stopped In With A Jeep Club For The Crawfish Boil
I'd driven past this place dozens of times while traveling down River Road, but had never stopped in until this visit. I finally decided to give it a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by how relaxed the atmosphere was. It seems like when there isn't a major event going on, it's a nice place to just kick back, have a few drinks, and relax.
The day I visited, the Jeep club was having a meetup, there was a live band playing, and they were also having a crawfish boil. Despite all of that, the place wasn't crowded at all. The wait to order food or get a beer was very short, and the prices were quite affordable. I tried the crawfish, which had decent flavor, although the spice level was pretty mild. I also thought the boil itself could have used a little more flavor, but overall the crawfish were pretty good. They were cooked in batches and then dumped into an ice chest where they were being served.
The outdoor concert area was nice, and they also have an indoor stage. There are plenty of places to sit and eat, with tables both inside and outside, along with seating on a deck. Overall, I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, reasonable prices, and variety of entertainment. I'd definitely consider coming back, especially when I'm looking for a casual place to have a drink, grab some food, and relax.
I think the crawfish boil is certain days during the season, so call ahead during crawfish season to see when they are having a boil day.— Paul
