Lots Of Options, But Average Flavor

This was my first time eating here in more than two decades, and based on this visit, it will probably be another couple of decades before I return. The overall experience was less than impressive. The food wasn’t particularly original or flavorful, and honestly, I’ve had truck-stop hot dogs with just as much, if not more, flavor.

I ordered a Chicago dog and a Polish dog on this visit. Both were loaded with toppings, so much so that the flavor of the hot dogs themselves was almost completely masked. There were so many toppings that the buns became soggy and eventually split in half, leaving everything spilling out into the box. The two hot dogs, without chili, cheese, or drinks, came to about $7.

Since it had been so long since my last visit, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the hot dogs themselves, either in size or flavor. Unfortunately, I was left wondering what makes them special. I’ve had Nathan’s and other brands where there’s something distinctive about the hot dog, a strong flavor, a casing with that satisfying snap, or a thicker, meatier texture. I couldn’t really identify anything that stood out here.

The service was fast, and my food was ready within just a few minutes. However, $7 for two average hot dogs that were overloaded with toppings and ended up soggy didn’t leave me particularly impressed.
