Old Fashion Burger Flavor, & Good Prices
This was my first time eating here, at least that I can remember. I used to spend a lot of time in this area as a kid, so there's a chance I had eaten here before, but if I did, it would have been decades ago.
The food reminded me of the old-fashioned burger places that used to be common around San Antonio but have slowly disappeared. I decided to order the steak burger as a combo so I could try the fries and get a drink, and also ordered one of the basic Griff burgers.
The combo was only $6.50, and the Griff Burger was $1.89, so overall a pretty affordable meal.
The fries actually caught me off guard because they tasted a lot like McDonald's fries, but with a buttery flavor that made them a little different. The burger was good and brought back memories of Floyd's on the southeast side, which is unfortunately gone now. The steak sandwich was good as well. It was thick and crispy and, along with the fries, was almost enough to fill me up by itself.
Everything I tried was good, and I would definitely come back to try some of the other items on the menu. For me, this is the kind of old-school burger place that's becoming harder to find, and I definitely prefer it over Burger Boy.— Paul
