  Surprisingly Good Fish, Great Prices, Lots Of Combo Options

  This was my first visit to Rudy’s. I’d heard people mention it time after time, and one day while passing by, I decided to stop in and see what it was all about. There aren’t that many seafood options in San Antonio outside of the larger chains, so I was interested in giving it a try.
  
  The prices were very reasonable for seafood, and the food was at the table pretty quickly after ordering. There was also a steady flow of customers throughout my visit, with people both dining in and coming in to pick up to-go orders.
  
  I ordered the Elva’s Combo, which came with two pieces of fish and three oysters, along with fries, hush puppies, rice pilaf, and coleslaw, all for $13.
  
  The fish had a nice, thin batter that was crisp without being overly crunchy. The oysters were medium-sized, breaded nicely, and had a good texture with plenty of meat in each one. The rice pilaf was made with a wild rice blend, and the fries were fresh from the fryer. The portion size of the entire plate was very generous.
  
  Overall, I was really impressed with the quality and price of the food here. It was much better than what I've experienced at many of the seafood restaurants around town, and I can see why people keep coming back.
  
  I’ll definitely be returning with friends so I can introduce them to this South Side hidden gem.
