  • ★★★★½ Beef Pad Thai Beef Pad See Ew Visited Aug 30, 2021

Great Thai Food. 2 Visits & Both Times The Entrees Were Great

I returned for a second visit and decided to try the beef Pad Thai this time. It was pretty good and gave me another positive experience here. Once again, the spicy scale ran on the hotter side, so I would recommend ordering your preferred spice level a little more conservatively than you might at other Thai restaurants.

The beef pad thai here was on par with some of the better Thai restaurants I've been to. I would absolutely think its in the top rankings of all the pad thai I've tried, but probably towards the bottom of the top 10 where it would tie with a few places.

So far, everything I've tried here has been pretty good, and the consistency between my first and second visits has been encouraging. I definitely plan to come back and try some of the other dishes.

On my first visit to this restaurant, I stopped in for dinner around 7 p.m. after a friend suggested the place. It's located about two blocks east of the Alamodome, in an area that many people in San Antonio probably wouldn't come across unless they live or work nearby. Despite having eaten at almost every Thai restaurant in San Antonio, I had never even heard of this one.

For my first visit, I ordered the beef Pad See Ew, prepared medium hot, and we shared the Thai spring rolls as an appetizer. The food came out in about 15 minutes.

The medium-hot level was already fairly spicy, so I'd recommend being conservative when choosing your heat level.

The food had very good flavor, and the dishes tasted authentically prepared. My only minor disappointments were that there were no desserts on the menu and no soup served with the meals.

Overall, my first visit was a good experience. It's also one of only two Thai restaurants I know of in the downtown or South Side areas of San Antonio, so it's nice to have another option in this part of town.

After two visits, I've had consistently good food and would definitely consider returning to try even more of the menu.
