Pasta Sampler Had 3 Items That Almost All Tasted The Same

This was my first time eating here, and I decided to try something fairly simple so I could compare it to similar dishes I've had at other Italian restaurants. I went with the pasta sampler, which included ravioli, lasagna, and manicotti. I figured it would be a good way to try 3 entrees at once. All three were served together on a single plate under a single layer of sauce and cheese.

The biggest issue was that the flavors and textures between the three weren't very distinct, so I sometimes had to figure out which one I was eating. The manicotti was the easiest to identify because of the white cheese filling and was actually quite good. The ravioli and lasagna were very similar in both texture and flavor, making it difficult to tell them apart.

I also had the chicken soup that came with the meal. It was a little spicy, but had good flavor. Fresh bread was brought to the table as well, and it was served so hot that it could barely be handled when it first arrived.

Service was good, fast, and friendly, and our waitress did an excellent job throughout the meal. Prices were fair and the portions were a decent size. Several people at our table had enough food left over to take home.

Overall, I thought the food was better than what I've had at many other Italian restaurants in San Antonio. Nothing I tried really stood out as exceptional, but everything was solid and enjoyable. I'd consider coming back to try some of the less common items on the menu, since there are several things I didn't get a chance to try.
