  Excellent Service At Bar - Really Good Food

  The food was good, and the prices were fair. Our waiter at the bar was especially helpful when we were trying to decide what to order. We were split between several items, so he actually helped us customize our plates and was happy to accommodate what we wanted.
  
  I was trying to decide between the cheese and chicken mole enchiladas. He suggested ordering the #1 special and customizing it with one cheese enchilada and one chicken mole enchilada, along with a tamale and a crispy beef taco. That gave me a chance to try a little bit of everything.
  
  My friend was debating whether to try the bacon-wrapped shrimp, so he added two of them as a side to his plate. I also suggested the tortilla soup, since several people had mentioned in their reviews that it was very good. My friend decided to give it a try and agreed with those reviews.
  
  The chicken mole enchiladas were on the sweeter side compared with the dozens of places I've tried them. They weren't the sweetest I've had, but they were definitely toward the sweeter end of the spectrum. The shredded chicken inside the enchiladas, however, was a little lacking in flavor.
  
  The bacon-wrapped jalapeños were another story. They had a pretty serious kick, and unless you really enjoy spicy food, I think a full order would be difficult to eat by yourself as an appetizer.
  
  One thing that really stood out on this visit was the service from the guy working the bar. He was excellent. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, willing to customize our orders, and made the whole process easy. He was also paying attention to what we were looking for rather than just taking the order and moving on.
  
  I've actually had table service here on another visit, and the experience wasn't nearly as good as what I received from the bartender. It had been several years since my last visit., and with so many Mexican restaurants in San Antonio, I decided it was worth giving this one another try. Overall Im not sure my meal and experience would have been as good had I been seated at a table. Sadly I do not remember the bartenders name or I would absolutely recommend him as your waiter.
