Stopped In To Try Lunch Specials
This was my first time eating here. The portions were good and the prices were fair, although the lunch specials didn't seem to be discounted by much. Unfortunately, the main reason for my lower scored review was the flavor of the food.
We started with the pork shumai, which had a slightly off flavor that both my friend and I noticed. I ordered the Drunken Noodles with beef, while my friend had the beef Pad Thai, and we both noticed a similar off flavor in our entrees.
As we continued eating, the strange flavor seemed to disappear, but I did get a few bites that tasted almost like liquid soap. It's worth mentioning that we arrived right after the restaurant opened, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.
The portions were large, and I left completely full. The sauce served with the shumai and pot stickers was excellent. The pot stickers themselves had great flavor and a nice crispy texture, even without the dipping sauce. Service was good, the food came out fairly quickly, and the restaurant is nicely decorated inside.
As a first experience, It was disappointing, because had it not been for the odd flavor we both noticed, this easily could have been a really good experience.— Paul
