First Time At This Location - Ordering The Sirloin Steak
This was my first time dining at this particular Texas Roadhouse location. It was pretty busy when I arrived, and I had to wait for a table. The food quality has generally been consistent across the different locations I've visited, regardless of what I've ordered. I wouldn't consider Texas Roadhouse a high-end steakhouse, but it's a good place to get an affordable steak. The rolls are always a favorite of mine, and I usually make a pretty good dent in my appetite eating them while waiting for the meal to arrive. They are known for the cinnamon butter they serve with the rolls.
I ordered my steak medium rare with mushrooms and onions, along with grilled shrimp and macaroni and cheese. Unfortunately, the steak came out closer to medium well than medium rare. The mushrooms and onions had good flavor and were well seasoned, and they gave me a huge portion that nearly covered the entire steak. The grilled shrimp were average in size and seasoned pretty well. They were grilled nicely without being chewy or dry, so they were a decent addition to the meal. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and had good flavor, although it was more of a standard mac and cheese rather than something that tasted baked or special.
Service was decent overall. Our waitress checked on us several times, but toward the end of the meal we were left waiting for refills and the check. That said, the restaurant was completely full and there was a line at the door, so it was understandable. Overall, I'd put Texas Roadhouse somewhere in the middle when it comes to steak restaurants. It's not the cheapest and it's not necessarily the best steak I've had, but it offers a decent steak meal at a price that won't break the bank.— Paul
