  • ★★★★½ Hefeweizen Visited Oct 4, 2017

Visited In The Off Hours & Purchased A Hefeweizen & Growler.

I had passed this place a few times while traveling through the area and had always considered making a stop. On one of my trips, I finally decided to pull in and check it out, initially just planning to grab a beer and continue on my way. I ended up enjoying one of their beers enough that I decided to take a growler home with me.

The beer selection was pretty decent, with enough variety to find something interesting, and I thought the prices were fair. I started with a pint of the Hefeweizen, and after tasting it, decided to leave with a growler of Hefeweizen as well. It was a pretty good beer, and when you find something you enjoy while traveling, sometimes it's worth taking a little bit of it home with you.

The atmosphere was probably the weakest part of the visit, although I don't think the timing helped. I stopped in during the afternoon, which obviously isn't exactly the busiest time for a brewery or bar. Other than one other customer, I was essentially the only person there during my visit. Because of that, it was pretty quiet and didn't have much of the lively atmosphere you might expect during an evening or weekend visit. I also didn't have a whole lot of interaction with the staff who were working that afternoon, so I didn't get much of a feel for what the place is like when it's busier.

That said, the location itself has some potential. They have a nice deck area that I could see being a great place to sit with a beer, particularly in the evening or during the cooler fall months. I imagine the atmosphere is quite a bit different when the deck is full and people are hanging out with friends.

They also had a food menu with several interesting items that caught my attention. Unfortunately, I had already eaten lunch before stopping, so I didn't get a chance to try anything. That's definitely something I'll have to remedy if I find myself traveling through the area again.

Overall, I was glad I finally decided to stop in rather than just continuing to drive past. The beer selection was good, the prices were reasonable, and I found a Hefeweizen that I enjoyed.
