AYCE Sushi Made To Order But Flavor Wasn't Impressive
The sushi here was decent, but it didn't really impress me in terms of flavor. The rolls are made fresh to order, and the menu offers a reasonable selection of dishes beyond sushi. One of the main attractions is the all-you-can-eat option, which is reasonably priced compared with similar restaurants I've visited in other cities, although the food fell a little short in the flavor department.
I ordered a variety of items to get a feel for the menu. The miso soup was good, as were the gyoza dumplings. Unfortunately, the spicy tuna roll had a somewhat fishy taste and lacked the flavor I was hoping for.
The fried rolls were more of a mixed bag, with some being better than others. One thing I did appreciate was the selection of tempura-fried rolls available. They also came in noticeably larger portions than some of the other rolls. The Vegas roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, and Malibu roll were among the varieties I tried, and you can see some of them on my plate in the photo.
Overall, the all-you-can-eat option offers a decent variety for the price, but the sushi itself wasn't consistently flavorful enough to stand out. The appetizers and other menu items helped make the meal feel more worthwhile, and those are a big part of what makes the AYCE price appealing here.
I'd probably return if I were in the mood for all-you-can-eat sushi, but I wouldn't put this at the top of my list if I were specifically looking for sushi with exceptional flavor.— Paul
