Orange & General Chicken Here Are Crisp & Flavorful
I was introduced to Tang Street by a friend and have now about 6 times. On my first visit, I ordered the General Tso's Chicken, and on my second, I tried the Orange Chicken. Both were really good and gave me a great first impression of the restaurant.
The fried chicken entrees are one of the things that stood out to me. The chicken is battered just right and fried until crispy, and the pieces hold up well under the sauce rather than becoming soggy. The sauces themselves are excellent, with a nice sweet flavor that works well with the crispy chicken. Everything tastes fresh, and the food appears to be prepared from scratch rather than relying on pre-made ingredients.
I've also read several other reviews mentioning that the Sesame Chicken is a popular choice here. Based on my experience with the General Tso's and Orange Chicken, I can understand why it would be popular and will probably give it a try on a future visit.
I've also seen reviews mentioning that Tang Street is BYOB. One reviewer even posted a photo of a BYOB sign, but I haven't personally verified this, so I'd recommend calling ahead if that's something you're interested in.
Service has been good during both of my visits. The restaurant has been fairly quiet each time, and the location is somewhat hidden, so it doesn't seem to get overly busy. Entree prices are fair, although they're toward the upper end, with most coming in just under $10.
If you've never been here before, lunch might be a good way to try it out. Many of the popular dishes are available as lunch plates for $6.99, making them a good value compared with the regular entree prices.
So far, everything I've tried has been great, and I definitely plan to return to try more of the menu.
