  Ate Here For The First Time - Food Was Fresh & Flavorful

  For a buffet in a small town, I was really impressed. I usually avoid buffets in smaller towns because the quality and selection can be hit or miss, but I decided to give this place a chance and was pleasantly surprised.
  
  The selection on the buffet was excellent, with a good variety of different dishes. I tried the General Chicken, Beef & Broccoli, sushi, pot stickers, coconut shrimp, and several other items. One thing I really liked was that they didn't simply leave more expensive items off the buffet. Instead, they would prepare small batches of things like coconut shrimp and bring them out fresh on a plate for the buffet. As items started running low, they were replaced, and everything I tried was fresh, crispy, and had good flavor. My only real criticism was the sushi selection, which was mostly avocado- and cream-cheese-based rolls.
  
  Service was excellent, the prices were very reasonable, and the overall quality of the food was good. For a small-town buffet, this was much better than I expected. I'd definitely return for another meal the next time I'm visiting Hondo.
