Restaurant Is Open Late, Has Excellent Flavor, & Wide Selection Of Entrees

Arirang is an awesome Korean restaurant, especially if you're looking for a great late-night meal.

I often complain about the lack of late-night dining options in San Antonio, so having a place like Arirang open until 2 a.m. most nights is a real plus. It's a great option when you're craving something different after 9 p.m., especially if you're in the mood for authentic Korean food.

I've been to restaurants that Americanize Korean cuisine, but the dishes here offer a genuine taste of Korean cooking. My absolute favorites are the Beef Bulgogi and LA Ribs. The Beef Bulgogi can be a little difficult to find on the menu, so don't confuse it with the Ttook Bulgogi, which is a soup or hot pot-style dish. If you can't find it, just ask your server. And don't forget to request some gochujang sauce!

For appetizers, I recommend the #31 Hae Mul Pa Jeon (seafood pancake) or the #36 Goon Man Doo (fried dumplings). Both are great choices to start your meal.

The entrees come with traditional banchan, a selection of Korean side dishes that can include pickled vegetables, kimchi, broccoli, bean sprouts, and more. It's a nice way to sample different flavors alongside your main dish.

The food has been consistently excellent throughout the years I've been coming here, regardless of the time of day. The waitstaff is friendly, too, and if you're unfamiliar with a dish or aren't sure how something is meant to be eaten, don't hesitate to ask. They're happy to help explain Korean cuisine.

One small thing I've noticed over the years is that requests for drink refills or additional banchan can occasionally be overlooked. The tables have dividers between them, so it's possible for the staff to miss you. If that happens, just give someone a quick wave, and they'll usually take care of it.

Excellent food, authentic Korean cuisine, a wide-ranging menu, friendly service, and late-night hours make Arirang one of my favorite places for Korean food in San Antonio. I highly recommend it, especially if you're searching for a satisfying meal late at night.
