The Seasoned Fries Are Great, The Burgers So-So
I tried this place for the first time and ordered the Big Hat Burger combo. The fries were easily the part of the meal that stood out the most. They were fresh, nicely seasoned, and probably the best part of the meal.
The burger itself came with two patties, bacon, cheese, grilled onions, and a dressing similar to Thousand Island. It was decent, but I didn’t think the overall flavor was anything particularly special. There was nothing wrong with it, but it just didn’t leave much of an impression compared to other places.
I came back about a week later and tried another combo. Once again, I thought the burger was just so-so, while the fries were really good again.
Since this location was along one of my regular routes, I stopped again about a week later and decided to skip the burger altogether. I ordered just an order of fries and a soda, which made for a pretty good snack. The downside was that the fries and soda alone came to almost $6, which seemed a little expensive for what amounted to a snack.
After three visits, I’m still not sure if there’s another item on the menu that I should try. The burgers haven’t really impressed me, but I’ve consistently enjoyed the fries. At this point, I may just be stopping here for the fries.— Paul
