Tried The Beef Pad Thai This Time

I've had the Pad Thai here before, but it's been a while. On previous visits, I had started exploring other items on the menu because some of the best things I've tried here have actually been the appetizers.

This time, I decided to order the beef Pad Thai again. The food seems to have changed over the years, and I suspect there may have been a change in ownership or cooking at some point. Some dishes have remained consistent, while others seem to have changed slightly or even been completely different.

The beef Pad Thai was decent, with good flavor, but the serving size seemed a little small, particularly the amount of beef included. It's not one of my top choices for Thai food, but the majority of what I've tried here has been pretty good and better than what I've had at many other places.

Combined with the appetizers, which have been some of the highlights of my visits, you can still put together an above-average meal here.

Good Food, Decent Prices, A Mix Of Vietnamese & Thai

The food here is generally good, especially the appetizers. The cheese rolls are one of my favorites, and I've tried about seven different items from the menu so far.

My most recent visit was probably the most disappointing, though. The food took quite a while to come out, and when it finally arrived, my entree was much saltier than I expected. The staff was checking on other tables and asking how people were enjoying their food, but no one ever came back to check on me. My drink also wasn't refilled, which I really needed with how salty the food was. At that point, the highlight of my meal ended up being the cheese rolls.

I've also noticed that some items have recently been removed from the menu. I specifically looked for the shaking beef but couldn't find it. A friend of mine mentioned that the restaurant had changed owners sometime within the last year or so, although I can't confirm whether that had anything to do with the changes I've noticed.

    Previous visits:

The Beef Pad See Ew was a little different from versions I've had elsewhere. It included snap peas and cucumber, which isn't something I typically see in the dish, but it was still pretty good.

I also tried the shaking beef a few visits back. It was decent, although it fell a little short compared with some of the other places where I've had it. The sauce on the meat and vegetables was lacking in flavor and the garlic was weak and didn't taste like it was fresh cloves.

Service during my previous dine-in visits had generally been good. My orders have always been correct, and the prices are pretty fair. Portion sizes have also been good across the different dishes I've tried.

Overall, this is a good option if you're looking for an Asian restaurant with a broad menu that covers dishes from several different cuisines. They do a pretty good job on the majority of dishes despite being a mixed cuisine restaurant. I've had good experiences here, and despite this most recent visit, I wouldn't rule out coming back.
