Was Not As Good As Previous Visit
This was my second visit to this location, and while the service was excellent, the food was a bit of a disappointment compared to previous visits.
The ribs were great, and I tried the coleslaw for the first time, which turned out to be surprisingly good. Unfortunately, the cream corn was lacking in flavor and fell short of expectations. I had recommended it to some out-of-town guests dining with me, so it was disappointing that it wasn't as good as I'd remembered. The brisket was also a little dry and lacked flavor, although I admit I forgot to request it marbled or moist when ordering, so I may have received lean meat.
Portion sizes were good, and the food came out fairly quickly. The service was a definite highlight. One of the women in my group was especially impressed when a waiter noticed her holding her purse and brought over a chair for her to set it on without being asked.
The visit was decent overall, but the food just didn't measure up to my previous experiences. My guests weren't particularly impressed with the barbecue, which was disappointing since I'd recommended the place. I'm not sure what was different this time, but the quality seemed noticeably below what I'd experienced previously.— Paul
