  Decent Chinese Food For A Random Stop On A Roadtrip

  I stopped at Mark Pi’s China Gate while traveling during the COVID shutdowns, when dine-in service wasn’t available and everything was limited to pickup. I ordered the General Chicken and, with my hotel still about 30 minutes away, ended up eating it in the car.
  
  The General Chicken was good—better than many versions I’ve had—but it didn’t quite have the texture and flavor to earn a top spot on my review list. It was a solid meal, just not something that really stood out.
  
  Prices were reasonable, service was quick, and there was a steady stream of people picking up orders. It was clearly a popular spot, especially considering how busy restaurants were during the shutdowns.
  
  I wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again and try something else, preferably dining in. A lot of food I had immediately after the shutdowns was pretty mediocre, so I’d be interested to see how Mark Pi’s China Gate compares under normal circumstances.
  
  I didnt get a good photo of the food in my car.. I forgot and snapped a photo of a small portion of what was left in my box.
