  Trying Cheddars On The Southside Of San Antonio

  This was my first time eating at this location. Overall, the experience was pretty consistent with other locations, although I did run into a few minor issues.
  
  The biggest disappointment was my steak, which had a very charred flavor on one side. I noticed some bitterness as I ate, but the bourbon glaze initially masked it. Once I ran out of sauce, the burnt flavor became much more noticeable. It wasn't enough to ruin the meal, but its the first time I've had this happen at a Cheddars.
  
  Fortunately, most of the food was consistent with what I've come to expect. The broccoli and cheese casserole remains a favorite, and the buttered croissants are always great.
  
  Service was decent, and I was offered a drink to go. Despite the parking lot being mostly full, I was seated immediately after arriving.
  
  I usually visit the location off I-35 in Schertz, where I was told they operate as a test kitchen. Because of that, I wasn't sure whether all my favorites would be available at this location or if the food quality and cooking would be comparable. For the most part, things were consistent, though the issue with the steak kept this visit from being quite as good as it could have been.
