Great Lunch Specials - Enchiladas & Carne Guisada
This was my first visit to Brenda's. The restaurant is located in the corner unit of an office complex. I was recommended this restaurant by a customer of mine that also has a business in the area.
I visited during lunch one day, and ordered the lunch special. Each day there is a set daily special as well as whiteboard full of others.
It happened to be 2 cheese enchiladas, a side of carne guisada, rice beans, chips & salsa, and a tea for $8.50. Which is a pretty good deal.
The food came out super quick, and was far better than I was expecting. The enchiladas had great flavor, the sauce on them had plenty of chile powder, and was more like chili without meat than the gravy style sauce many places serve. The cheese was fully melted, the food came out blazing hot. The carne guisada was very tender, pretty much fall apart tender, and had good flavor as well. Im glad it was the special, and hope this is one they run regularly.
Service was good, I was checked on a few times, the portion size of the lunch plate was decent, and the price for the amount of food was excellent.
Free chips and salsa were provided, and the salsa had a bit of a roasted flavor to it.
I was surprised by this visit, as no one other than my customer had ever mentioned it to me. I would definitely return here again and as far as best lunch specials in town go this would definitely make the top 10. As far as cheese enchiladas go, this will also make the top 10, coming in right behind some of my favorites and well known names.
I highly recommend giving this place a try if you havent already.
