Had A Custom Kitchen Sink Pizza Made - Came Out Great, But Wasnt Cheap.
I recently visited Raven Pizza & More while in Florida to try their pizza and wings. I had read great things about the wings, and after seeing their extensive list of pizza toppings, I was excited to give it a try.
The restaurant doesn’t have a dine-in area, so unless you order ahead, you’ll be waiting at the counter or in your car. The place was buzzing with delivery drivers coming and going, and customers pulling up for curbside pickups.
I had called ahead to ask if there was a limit on pizza toppings, and though they said there wasn’t, they recommended sticking to no more than eight. I didn’t mind smaller portions, so I marked all the toppings I wanted on a menu. The staff, mostly younger folks, were incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely excited to make my "kitchen sink" pizza.
**My Order**
For my order, I went with an extra-large 16" pizza loaded with pepperoni, ham, bacon, ground beef, salami, jalapeno, black and green olives, roasted red peppers, onions, garlic, banana peppers, mushrooms, and green peppers.
This wasn’t a cheap pizza—it came out to about $40, starting with a deluxe and adding extra toppings—but compared to other "kitchen sink" pizzas I’ve had, it’s in the same price range (usually around $30-$35).
It took a little persuasion, first some staff told me they couldnt do it, then some staff said they could do it, if they ran it thru twice, and that some items might be extra crispy. But to make sure the dough and meat cooked properly that was required. So I went with it. I dont mind crispy pepperoni,
or ham.
In addition to the pizza, we ordered two bowls of wings: a 6-piece Old Bay and a 6-piece Garlic Parmesan.
Despite the large number of toppings, and being warned that the pizza might need extra time in the oven, our order was ready in about 20 minutes.
**The Food**
The pizza had great flavor. The crust was impressively crisp without burning the toppings, although a few were a bit well done. The topping portions were generous, and each bite packed a punch. The banana peppers gave a nice tangy bite, and the jalapenos added just the right amount of heat. Despite being offered parmesan and red pepper flakes, the pizza didn’t need any extra seasoning.
The wings were equally impressive. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and delicious. The Old Bay wings had a perfect balance of spice and sweetness, and even though there wasn’t a lot of seasoning left at the bottom of the container, every wing was flavorful from start to finish.
**Service**
Service was excellent. Despite our unusual order, the staff was more than accommodating, checking in with us while the food was being prepared. The restaurant was well-staffed, with 4-5 people in the kitchen and on the counter, and a couple of delivery drivers constantly on the move.
While it may not take the top spot for 'kitchen sink' pizza, this is one of only three places that has been willing to create it for me, or even offered enough toppings to make it possible. So, kudos to them for that! Everything about the experience was great!
