Probably The Best Guacamole Burger I've Had. Large, Smokey, Tons Of Flavor.
**Cuarto De Kilo Burgers (9.5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Mesquite Grilled Hamburgers
**Cuarto De Kilo specializes in serving hefty burgers that live up to their name—a quarter of a kilo, or about 0.6 lbs. While not the largest burger I've ever had, this was one of the larger single-patty burgers I've had in a restaurant.
The restaurant highlights a few unique features, including a "Mexican recipe" and a rotating grill that constantly rotates the burger patties over the flames, ensuring a more even cooking temperature by eliminating the hot and cold spots typically found on a traditional BBQ pit or grills.
The menu is pretty straightforward: you can choose between cheese, no cheese, guacamole, and bacon. Sides include onion rings or fries, and drink options range from beer and Mexican sodas to fountain drinks.
I opted for the guacamole burger, accompanied by onion rings and a fountain drink. Despite the restaurant being nearly full on a Friday night, my order arrived in about 18 minutes.
The burgers size was immediately apparent, even before unwrapping it. Once unwrapped, it was clear that the meat patty was substantial.
**Onion Rings**
I started with the onion rings, which had a flavorfully seasoned crisp breading. The sweet onions inside were semi-thick, with a nice texture, not soggy, though tended to slip out of the breading unless bitten through completely.
**Dipping Sauces**
The restaurant offers three types of dipping sauces for $1 each: chipotle, jalapeño, and "Bestia" sauce. I sampled all three. The chipotle sauce was similar to what you might find at other places. The jalapeño sauce stood out with its creamy texture and distinct green flavor. But the Bestia sauce, however, was my favorite. It had a slightly spicy kick, a creamy texture and a unique flavor that made it standout from the other 2.
**Guacamole Burger**
Now for the burger itself. I tried it as it came from the kitchen, without any additions from the condiments bar. The patty was cooked medium, with just a hint of pink. It was juicy, tender, and infused with the mesquite smoke flavor of the grill. The guacamole was fresh and flavorful, made with garlic, lime, onion, and tomato. There was so much guacamole that some fell out with each bite. Added to all this was a few seasoned tortilla chips that added a nice crunch and flavor, a slice of tomato, and onion. Surprisingly, as I neared the end of the burger, I took a bite that didnt contain the tortilla chips, and noticed the flavor was distinctly different—those chips or their seasoning really enhanced the overall flavor & texture.
This burger easily makes it into my top 10 list, especially when it comes to guacamole burgers—it's easily makes my top 3, and most recently, the best one I’ve had. The $11 price felt justified given the size, quality, and generous portions of meat and guacamole, though the onion rings, while tasty, seemed a bit pricey at $5 for the portion size received. The entire meal, excluding sauces and tip, came to just over $20.
While the flavors weren’t entirely unique, the combination of well-made guacamole and mesquite grilled meat created a memorable burger. The quality of the meat and the generous portion size made this an excellent choice, and when all the ingredients and flavors are done right, make for an excellent meal.
