  Green Chile Burger Dissapointed. Chile Was Cold & Burger Was Soggy.

  I hadn't eaten at Chesters Hamburgers in at least 20 years. I finally decided to give it a try, as I hear people mention it from time to time, but never really have any recommend it to me. I assumed this was probably because the restaurant has been around so long.
  
  I visited the Pat Booker location. The restaurant was decently busy, I went in with a line of about 4 people ahead of me. A pretty simplistic menu of burgers, fries and onion rings, with a few options for toppings. There was a few non burger options on the menu, but they were minimal, and the green chile burger caught my attention. I ordered the burger with no tomato, since there was a sign at the register stating all burgers were prepared with everything on them, and then the waitress also stated this.
  
  I asked the waitress if I should get fries or onion rings, and she recommended the fries, saying they were fresh cut, similar to steak fries. So I went with an order of those as well, and an Angry Orchard cider that was on special for $2.50. Total for the chile burger, fries and beer was $15.
  
  There were only a few tables open, and the one I sat down at had not been cleaned. After a few minutes I decided to try and wipe it down as best I could, as it had lettuce and stuff scattered on it. I put all the napkins I used off to the side of the table. Eventually as some people left other tables a busser came by and cleared the other tables, but disappeared quickly..
  
  My name was called and I went up to retrieve my order. My table was still messy enough I was concerned the busser might come back and clear it.. So I grabbed my food and rushed back.. I prepared to snap some photos of my food, first one wrapped and then another unwrapped. The green chile was served in a small plastic container. I thought this was odd, but maybe to let people portion it.. It might be spicy, and at this point I wasnt sure if this was real Hatch chile, or something else. I later saw a photo someone else posted with a sign stating they use real Hatch chile's sourced from New Mexico.
  
  When I opened the burger I found that there was no onion, and no mustard. When I ordered they distinctly said "all burgers are served with mustard, onion, tomato, lettuce, pickles", so I minus'd the tomato, but mine just had lettuce and pickles. I went up to the counter to ask if the green chile burger was prepared differently, they checked my ticket, and said my burger must have been mixed up with someone elses, and I was given some onions and mustard. After applying the mustard, and onions, and adding the cup of green chile, I snapped my pic, sliced the burger in half and took my first bite.
  
  The burger was just OK, the meat didnt really have much seasoning, it was kinda plain. The green chile was so cold, it had brought the temperature of the whole burger down, and the top bun had become cold and soggy. Then I tried the fries, they were pretty good, kinda limp, some of them folded over when I picked them up, but they had decent flavor.
  
  I've had a good number of green chile burgers, I've had what was named the best one in New Mexico. This burger wasn't even close to that one. As a green chile burger, it failed to deliver on many fronts. The burger overall was just warm, it lacked seasoning, it barely had a grill flavor, and the chile was served ice cold which didnt help the already barely warm burger. I wasn't sure what size burger to expect, and what was served was decent sized, but what I would call average.
  
  I probably won't visit again. I left totally unimpressed. For the price theres many burger places I have enjoyed more locally.
