Decent Bulgogi, Spicier and More Garlic Than Most Places. Sides Could Be Better.
I heard about this place from some other local foodies, and since I like Bulgogi I had to try it out. I believe they opened about 2 months ago. The restaurant is located in a small shopping strip near Grissom and Bandera.
We were seated immediately and given menu's and our order was taken right away. After our drinks were served we ordered the beef bulgogi and the japchae. Bowls of miso soup were brought out first.. The soup was decent. I would have eaten another. Better than many places, and then the food was brought out about 10 minutes later.. With 5 sides brought for each person.
We received kimchi cucumbers, bean sprouts, kimchi, pickled radish, and a 2nd type of boiled cucumber. I enjoyed the bean sprouts, the kimchi was decent, but the cucumbers needed more flavor, and the radish was not sweet at all, and was kinda plain.
My bulgogi was a decent sized portion, with carrots, onions, a little spring onion, and cabbage mixed in. The plate was topped with sesame seeds and possibly parsley or a dehydrated chopped green onion.
The Bulgogi had really good flavor, very juicy, was marinated with a sauce that had a little heat to it, and definitely a decent amount of garlic. I was surprised however when I asked for gochujang sauce, and they said they didnt have any. I've only been to 1 Korean restaurant ever, that didnt have it.
I tried some of the japchae, it was pretty good, was a vegetarian type. It came out super hot, with steam rising from the plate.
Our waitress came by to check on us at least 3 times. They rang us up quickly when we were done. The food was prepared fresh, good flavor on entrees, side dishes could be improved a little and sodas were served in plastic bottles.. Overall not bad.
Compared to other places locally price wise it falls in the middle, portion size is better than many, and the bulgogi flavor is probably in the top 5 locally..
I forgot to photograph the menu.. oops.. So heres a quick rundown of the menu.
