Decent Thai Food, Medium Sized Portions, Diverse Menu

Siam Cuisine has some of the best Thai food in the San Antonio area. The restaurant is located just off I-35 on 3009, in the shopping center to the side of the Walmart. After multiple visits and having tried about a half dozen items, I can say that nearly every dish I've tried has been excellent.

So far I've tried the Beef Pad Thai, the Beef Yum Neau (Salad), and the Beef Pad Se Ew. All 3 were really good to excellent, but I think the Pad Se Ew, was my favorite of those. A medium spice level here is what I would consider to be a 3/10. But they have spice trays they bring out with fish sauce, crushed thai chili, and crushed peanuts, so more spice is always an option, and the crushed chili is roasted and has a smokey flavor.

The flavors on all the dishes are bold, with the noodles having a nice browning & caramelization of the sauces. Carrots and other vegetables are cooked soft, but only enough to still have a crunch or snap to them.

The menu contains a wide variety of noodles, soups, curries, and rice dishes, with items ranging from rich and savory, to creamy and sweet. Theres also a menu for 2, where multiple entrees, and appetizers can be selected and shared.

The food has been consistent for nearly a decade, and service there has always been pretty good. I did have one visit where I was never waited on, and the restaurant can get pretty busy on weekends or during the dinner rush, but average time for food to come out of the kitchen is about 15-20 minutes even during the dinner rush.

The one place this restaurant falls short in my opinion is portion size. I would say the portion size of their entrees is about 60-70% the size of many other Thai restaurants, and for this reason I would encourage the ordering of an appetizer, but other than that, the food is fantastic. Entrees start at around $11. (Menus from my most recent visit are attached to this review)
