Good Asada Tacos - Fast Service - Decent Prices
Its been years since Ive eaten at Taqueria Datapoint, in fact probably a decade. I used to visit a taco truck they had setup near some friends apartments on Datapoint. Then I visited the restaurant which closed when the building caught fire on Harry Wurzbach, I was clueless to this location until last year when I added it to my list of places to try.
Back when I used to get food from the truck, Id get the cup of beans and an asada taco or two, and I dont know what it was about the food from the truck, late at night, but it was absolutely amazing.
I stopped in for brunch, it was about 10am, I ordered 3 asada tacos and a coke. I was curious how they compared to what I remembered, and all the other tacos I've had since then.
Service was quick, and my tacos were served in just a few minutes.
The meat was cooked until the edges crisped. The tortillas tasted fresh, and the meat had a nice flat iron flavor very similar to the way taco trucks taste. But ultimately it didnt live up to my memories from a decade ago, and while falling a little short of a top position in my reviews, I would still rank them somewhere in the top 10 asada tacos in San Antonio. The meat here has a unique grilled, charred, & buttery flavor.
If you like taco truck style asada tacos, you should definitely try this place.— Paul
