Classic San Antonio Style Mexican Food.
Spent the day at the Methodist Hospital on McCullough and while I was sitting in the waiting room, looked at Google maps to see what was near I could walk to. Little Taco Factory came up. Pretty sure people have mentioned it to me over the years, just had no idea where it was at.
I walked over to the restaurant, only took 3 minutes.. and decided on the enchilada plate with carne guisada after seeing both items were in the most mentioned item on Google reviews.
The food came out super quick, less than 7 minutes. The rice and beans were pretty decent, the rice was fluffy. The enchiladas were fully melted with liquified cheese that stuck to the fork when it cooled. The enchilada sauce had good flavor, and I ordered with onions, and there were plenty of them diced up on top. The carne guisada was really good, had decent flavor, but was amazingly tender.
2 Enchiladas by themselves was $5, 2 Enchiladas with rice and beans was $10, and with carne guisada was $11. Red and green salsa were brought to the table, and I was surprised by the red, as it had a pickled jalapeno flavor and was very unique.
All the food had good flavor, the enchiladas were really good, the carne guisada was commendable as well, and the tortillas were thick and tasted fresh made. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. The flavor is similar to a few smaller places Ive eaten before, but definitely a little different from the majority of places. It reminds me of all the Mexican places that are gone now, that I used to eat at in the 80s, Like Taco Kitchen on Walzem and Taco Hut on Goliad Rd. If your looking for Mexican food like those places served, you should give it a try.
Its a pretty small place.. Seating for about 20 people. But the orders came out quick, lots of people taking bags to go, and the prices while not super cheap weren't high either. It was $25 for 2 plates, a tea and a canned soda.
