  Visted Randomly, Tried The Daily Special and It Was Great!

  My visit here was completely unplanned. I was in the area around lunch time, and after discovering a place that was on my list to try was closed, I picked Dos Jaliscos, a place I'd never heard of, from the Google map of places located nearby. At the entry was a chalk board of daily specials, that all included sweet tea for $8,
  
  While looking at the menu I took a look online to see what other people recommended. According to other reviews online the enchiladas were popular, as well as the carne guisada, and since the guisada was one of the daily specials, thats what I ordered.
  
  Complimentary chips and salsa were served, and for the first time in a while I thought the hot sauce I received was actually a bit spicy. The chips however were firm, a bit lacking flavor wise, and might have been home made. The salsa while having a little heat, was just decent flavor wise. (I did not try the 2 bottles of red and green they brought out with my meal)
  
  My sweet tea arrived, and wasn't overly sweet, but as someone who doesnt drink much tea, I'd say was pretty decent. For comparisson, a bit later in the day I still had the to-go cup of their tea, and it was still cold. Just as I finished it, a friend had a jug of Milo's tea. I refilled part of my cup and the difference was almost undiscernible. I know a lot of people like Milos, so I figured Id mention that.
  
  It took about 7 minutes for my food to come out. The plate was flooded with gravy, and about a dozen decent sized cubes of meat, a small salad, rice and refried beans. The very first thing I noticed was the massive amount of orangy gravy. It reminded me of enchilada gravy. I took my first bite of the guisada, and the gravy was like enchilada gravy. It had really good flavor, and the meat was very tender. The meat was so tender you could have torn it apart with your fingers or a fork, there was no fat I could see, and so far the main plate was off to a good start. I feel this guisada was a solid 9/10. I feel like the lack of any fat may have been a contributing factor oif it not being a 10, but as a whole the gravy made up for some of that missing flavor and texture.
  
  The rice was decent, and with the surplus of gravy I decided to eat the two together. The rice & beans were pretty standard, nothing really different, but decent overall.
  
  The plate was a fair sized portion, and was served with 2 flour tortillas, I had enough leftover to make 1 guisada taco, and 1 bean taco which I took with me and ate a few hours later as a snack.
  
  While I was eating my waitress came by twice, once just a few minutes after the food came out, and then again about 15 minutes later. I was offered another glass of tea to go as I got ready to leave.
  
  Overall, the guisada was good, some of the better carne guisada I've had. The portions were decently large, and left full and with enough for a snack later. Service was decent, and while a few items were just average, the entree really stood out. The included tea really made the whole meal a decent deal as far as the price was concerned. I would eat there again, as Im curious about the enchiladas now, since I would suspect they might have a gravy very similar to the carne guisada.
