  • ★★★★½ Beef Salad Pot Stickers Pad See Ewe Drunken Noodle Visited Sep 6, 2023

Good food, good flavor, but serious spice level on everything.

On my way to Memphis I tried to eat at a nearby Thai restaurant only to find it was take out only. Places were still reopening from Covid shutdowns at the time. Its came to my attention this location may have changed owners since my visit.

This was the next closest place on my route. I stopped in, and we ordered a variety of items including beef salad, pot stickers, drunken noodle, and beef pad see-ewe.

The beef salad which had no spice level specified, and the pad see-ewe & drunken noodle was ordered a medium hot. What came out was probably what I'd rate 10 on the spicy scale, with Thai hot being the only thing hotter. I eat crazy spicy stuff all the time, and this was hot, hot enough to lightly upset my stomach.

The presentation of all the items was very nice, with mint garnishes, drizzles of sauce, and food arranged in small mounds. The flavor of everything was really good, but the level of spice made the items unedible to a certain extent. I ended up taking a box of food with me to the hotel, where I struggled again to finish it later.

The beef salads flavor was great. The pad see-ewe was interesting as it had red and green bell pepper in it, and appeared to be closer to a drunken noodle than pad see-ewe, but the flavor on it was amazing as well. The food may have been some of the best Thai food I've had, but the spice level detracted from the enjoyment of the food.

I brought the level of spice to the attention of the waitress, and the response was "would you like a glass of water?". I honestly think this place could have been a high 9.

Prices were a bit on the high side, portions were decently sized, presentation was great, service was decent. I'd consider another visit if Im ever in the area, but I would caution with the spice level. Not sure if its still the same cook, since the restaurant may have changed hands.
