Thursday Special Is Where Its At. Enchiladas, Steak, Rice, Beans, Tortillas & Large Drink $6
I just recently started eating at Eddies, and all I can say is, I wish I had tried it sooner. You can't beat the Thursday throwback special. Its dine in or to go. If you dine in you get chips and salsa. The special is all day long, and includes 2 cheese enchiladas in chili sauce, rice, beans, tortillas, and a small flank steak. It also includes a large drink (tea or soda). The price for all this is $6.
The enchiladas here a pretty good, they come out baked nicely, with the chili & cheese fully melted on top, the rice has good flavor and texture, the refried beans are decent, but I like to get the charro beans with my meal. The salsa ain't bad either.. I can easily finish off a bowl while I wait for my order.
You can't get a meal for this price anywhere in town, and I'm concerned with recent inflation that this is going to go away soon. So try it while you can. Its a great way to feed the family affordably on a Thurs.
When it comes to service it can be hit or miss. I've had visits where drinks went empty, I didnt receive chips or salsa, and I recently had my table cleared while in the restroom even after telling the waiter I was going to the restroom. However I was told there was a communication issue, I thought he spoke english since he had spoke to me in english several times, but the manager fixed it and replaced my order.
The best time to visit is probably between lunch and dinner time, but even when its busy, the food comes out quick.
Eddies enchiladas are currently #7 in my list. Not bad for a $6 plate that includes your drink. If you've never eaten here its a must try.

Eddies has 2 locations, one downtown near Market Square and the other location I usually go to on Thousand Oaks near Wetmore, just a little north of Wurzbach parkway on the N side of the Airport.
