  Good Cheese Enchiladas, & Great Roasted Salsa, The Combo Plate Was Great.

  Amazingly I've never been to Panchitos, and I've lived in San Antonio my entire life. Several people couldn't believe I'd never eaten there, so It was on my list of places to try.
  
  Since it was my first visit I went with the Ponchos combo, 2 cheese enchiladas, sauce, rice, beans, and 2 sides. I was a little confused at first as I wouldn't call them sides, Fajita meat, Crispy Taco, Olmos Taco or Empanada. I went with the Crispy Taco and the Fajita.
  
  Complimentary chips and salsa were brought to the table, it was a dark roasted pepper salsa, It had good flavor and we finished nearly 2 bowls of it before the meal was over with. The salsa was the dark roaste pepper kind, that has a smokey and sweet flavor to it.
  
  The food arrived after not too long of a wait, and I tried the enchiladas first. Not in my top 5, but definitely decent. They had good flavor, the sauce was good, and the size of the plate was pretty decent.
  
  The fajita meat came on the plate, in the enchilada sauce, so it altered the flavor a bit, but it definitely had a charred grill flavor and was seasoned decently. I feel fajita tacos here would be pretty good based on what came on my plate.
  
  The rice had good flavor, not bland or mushy, and the beans were decent, nothing special, but not plain either.
  
  Last was the crispy taco, good flavor, and a nice crispy shell, plenty of shredded cheese and toppings, pretty decent.
  
  Service was so-so, it took a bit to get our drinks, and then when the food came, they asked if we wanted corn or flour tortillas, and we could have nearly finished eating before they were brought, but other than the delays, the service was good.
  
  So how do I rate Panchitos? Better than average, probably in my top 10 Tex-Mex overall. While I didnt find a particular item here that was overly impressive, everything I had on my plate was better than average. The prices were decent, serving sizes were good, and menu had a very wide variety of items. There was also the chips and salsa which were pretty good.
