Menu is diverse but so is the flavor.
I've eaten a few times now at Dos Laredos, and it seems your experience will really depend on what you order. I've had really good items, with huge portions and great flavor, and other items with small portions and average flavor. So I'll list a few items I'd recommend, and a few I wouldn't.
On one of my very first visits I ordered 2 plates, and the amount of meat on them was so much I ate for a couple days. One was the carne al pastor. In 2018 this plate was $7 and it made about 6 tacos. The al pastor was great, and this was the item that ultimately brought me back to the restaurant to try more items.
On my first visit dining in I ordered the parrilladas, which doesnt appear on the paper menu. This is the item shown on my short video clip. It was a huge plate of beef fajita, chicken fajita, shrimp and sausage, with peppers and onions, a side of borracho beans, rice and salad.. It was a ton of food again, and came out sizzling. Another win for this place..
On my 3rd visit a few months later I ordered the Dos Laredos Plato thinking thats what I had ordered before but it wasn't. Because for some reason the parrilladas is hard to find on the menu. The Dos Laredos Plato is just beef and chicken. Both were good but the parrilladas was what really stood out.
On my most recent visit, I ordered the cheese enchiladas, these are the first item I would probably steer you clear of. When it comes to tacos, this place does it right. Everything grilled has been great, but the enchiladas were less than impressive. So now I know, to stick to the grilled items..
Also shown in the photos are asada tacos, and an asada torta. Friends dining with me ordered these items and said they were pretty good.
If your a family, I'd order 2-3 plates and share them, the meat comes loose in the container, with packaged tortillas separate from the plates, and theres usually enough meat for about 4-5 good sized tacos per plate. Sometimes I need extra tortillas.
Service when dining inside is pretty good, food comes out fairly quick, drive thru lines are usually only 1-2 cars long, prices are very fair, portions are huge, and they are open till 11pm. A great combination.
