    Mexican Buffet with Good Selection & Decent Flavors

    I've eaten here a few times now, and would definitely classify it as more of a "Mexican" buffet than a Tex Mex buffet. The items offered are both more south of the border in flavor and variety than most of your San Antonio restaurants.

    The buffet offers all your more common items, like cheese enchiladas, rice and beans, tostadas, BBQ chicken, taquitos, & tamales, but also your somewhat less common items. Theres the chicken mole (which is decently good), nopales, chicharones in salsa verde, arepas as well as an entire bar dedicated to pozole & menudo. (This list is far from complete, theres also several taco meats available, see pictures).

    The dessert bar is equally diverse with a few local favorites like tres leches, flan, and conchas, but also offering capriotada, arroz con leches & more.

    Would I call this an "authentic" Mexican buffet, No, it has American food (fried shrimp, fried fish, crawfish, pizza & chicken nuggets for kids), it has Chinese food (egg rolls, sesame chicken, beef & broccoli & cheese rangoons). Is the food the best Mexican food in town? No, its decent, and its a buffet, but its also not Ponchos either (which was definitely Tex Mex) and sadly, you wont find sopapillas here either.

    While I don't recommend everything offered, some items are definitely better than others. Theres a few items I like here including the chicken mole sauce, which I spoon over several items. Im not a fan of the enchiladas here either, and found the menudo to be somewhat bland. But with as many options as they offer, you should be able to find something you like. You probably wont walk away thinking you just had the best Mexican food ever, but you will leave full.
