Prices So Low You'll Think You Traveled Back To The 90s.
This is one of those places I found while traveling for work. I'd never even heard of Altus Oklahoma before this. Altus is located in the southwestern part of Oklahoma, about halfway between Dallas TX and Amarillo TX. While I was there I stopped for dinner, picked this steak house and was shocked when I saw the prices. Your probably thinking they were expensive.. It was the total opposite.
I ordered a chicken fried steak with a side of mashed potatoes and rice, skeptical of what I would get for the $4.79 shown on the menu (now $5.79). What was brought to my table was a really good meal, with a fresh baked roll, crispy chicken fried steak, gravy that had good flavor, and while it was neither the largest or the best chicken fried steak I've had, it was far better than many I've had that cost 3 times as much.
After receiving the chicken fried steak, I decided I should just order another meal for later. I knew I wasn't going to make it to my hotel until it was pretty late. I ordered the 8oz sirloin to go. At these prices It was too good a deal to pass up. The 8oz Sirloin with 2 sides was $7.29 (now $9.29).
When I got to my hotel a few hours later I heated the box up and the steak and potato was great. Probably one of the best meals Ive ever eaten in a hotel room. The steak was ordered medium rare, and it was cooked just right. My total bill for both meals, the extra side, to-go box, loaded potato, drink & tax was $19.37.
Service was good, and orders came out decently fast. How this wasn't the first place recommended to me when I asked local people where to eat is beyond me. If your ever in this part of Oklahoma I highly suggest grabbing a meal here.
