First Time Eating At In-N-Out
I had just come from a convention in Las Vegas and decided to take the long way home, spending some time traveling through Utah and seeing places I hadn't visited before. While heading down the highway, I needed to pick up a hard drive to back up some files from the convention, and I noticed a Best Buy nearby. When I pulled into the parking lot, I discovered there was an In-N-Out Burger right there as well.
I had recently watched someone at the convention take on a massive 60-patty burger as part of a charity fundraiser. That got me curious about In-N-Out, so I decided it was a good opportunity to give it a try. I ordered a Double-Double burger, which comes with two beef patties and two slices of cheese, a fry and drink.
The burger was pretty good, but I didn't find them particularly amazing. It was basically lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat and bread. It had a fresh flavor, but that was about it. The fries were decent and had a nice crispness, but again the flavor was underwhelming. They weren't seasoned, and the oil didn't seem to add much flavor either, so they mostly tasted like plain potatoes. I also noticed that the drink cups had Bible verses printed near the bottom, which was an interesting detail.
Service was quick, and the food was reasonably priced, making it a very inexpensive meal. However, while nothing was bad, nothing really stood out either. The burger and fries were a little too plain for my taste, and I didn't see anything else on the menu that particularly tempted me to try it.
Overall, it was a perfectly fine first experience with In-N-Out, but I came away feeling a little underwhelmed. The combination of the plain food and low prices makes it a reasonable option for an inexpensive meal, but not distinctive enough to make me want to seek out other locations.— Paul
