2nd Time Trying This Sandwich And This Time Was Even More Unimpressive
I was really hoping for a good beef French dip sandwich, especially since it was advertised as being made with tri-tip. I expected the meat to be tender, juicy, and full of rich beef flavor. Unfortunately, it fell well short of those expectations. The meat tasted more like a cheaper, pre-cut frozen beef than quality tri-tip, lacking the texture and flavor I was hoping for.
The portion size was decent, although the amount of meat wasn't particularly generous. The au jus was another disappointment, as it was rather bland and lacked the rich, savory beef flavor that makes a French dip worth ordering. I've had really good Au Jus made from drippings and beer at some place's but what was served here tasted like powdered mix.
The coleslaw was acceptable but nothing special. It was fine as a side, but not really having any flavor that would set it apart from anywhere else.
The onion rings disappointing as well, cooked well beyond the point of being crispy, landing more in the overly crunchy category. The breading was rather hard, and the onion inside was beginning to dry out rather than remaining tender.
Nothing on the plate was inedible, but the meal as a whole was pretty average. When a sandwich is advertised as tri-tip, I expect better-quality beef than what I received. Paired with bland au jus, and overcooked onion rings, this meal fell middle of the road across the board.
Service was pretty good, but the meal was unimpressive. After trying this sandwich two times I'll probably forego ordering it again in the future.— Paul

Ordered The 8oz Sirloin With Couscous Mac & Cheese
Ordered the 6oz Sirloin with 2 sides. For my sides I chose the mashed potatoes and the couscous mac and cheese.
The steak that came out was pretty small. I have to assume the 6oz is before cooking and what I received was closer to 4-5oz. The couscous mac & cheese looked good, and the mashed potatoes were plain with no gravy or anything.
I tried the couscous first, it was pretty good, it had good flavor, the type of cheese used could have been better, but the bacon and chives on top were a nice touch. The serving portion was decent.
Next was the sirloin. I sliced into it, and it was cooked properly, medium rare with a bit of reddish pink in the center. The outside had good charring to it, but it had a BBQ style sauce applied to it.
The meat had decent flavor, not fantastic, but the size was pretty small. I actually tried to portion out the bites so that I didn't run out of meat well before everything else.
The mashed potatoes were pretty plain, they had average flavor, wasn't anything special, and probably the most boring part of the meal. It could have used some gravy of some kind.
The meal was decent, but the portion of steak on this plate was pretty small. It was just enough food to satisfy hunger, but not really keep you full for too long. I felt the price for this small of a steak was a bit high.
I probably wouldn't order this particular steak again, mostly due to its size. I'm not even sure I was served the right size. I saw there was a 6oz version available with ribs, but that wasn't what I ordered.— Paul
